Each year, the Better Business Bureau of Metro Atlanta’s Educational Foundation honors six students by presenting them with an award and check as they are announced our winners of the Student of Integrity Scholarships.

Any high school senior attending an accredited school in our service area is eligible to compete.  Students must submit information regarding their leadership and community activities and a copy of their transcript.

70% of their entry is an essay on trust.  This year, we were surprisingly overwhelmed as almost 300 high school seniors vied for the six $1,000 scholarships.

With the help of our three judges, experts in the field of ethics and whose combined scores gave each student’s total score, we had not six, but seven winners with a tie for sixth place.

Our student winners were recently announced and presented with their award and check at our annual Torch Award luncheon held on May 13, 2010.  We are honored to announce our Student of Integrity Scholarship winners for 2010:

Madilene Lake – Madilene attends Pope High School and will attend Furman University.  Madilene will major in Political Science and International Affairs.

Rachael Copeland –Rachael attends East Coweta High School and will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Management Major.

Jessaca York – Jessaca attends South Cobb High for the magnet program and will be attending Brown University.  Jessaca will major in human biology.
